Letter From the Board about COVID-19

UpdatedWednesday May 6, 2020 byCUSC Board of Directors.

Dear Cornwall Soccer Families,

First and foremost we hope you are all doing well and staying healthy.

As you are all aware Gov. Cuomo has announced that the schools will now be closed for the rest of the school year.

Based on this announcement, coupled with following guidance of government authorities and medical experts  EHYSL has determined as of 5 May 2020 that the East Hudson 2020 Spring season will be cancelled.

As you are aware, the Cornwall United Board has previously noted that we will be following the actions of the league and therefore, it is with great disappointment that Cornwall United soccer related activities will also be cancelled through the spring season.

We will continue as a Board to try and bring you activities that can be done at home to keep those skills sharp and ready to go in the future.  Each Wednesday Coach Taylor will continue  a 30 minute Cornwall United virtual academy via Zoom. Coach Taylor will forward a meeting invite on Monday or Tuesday  each week which will provide the meeting ID and password.  We encourage all players to participate as much as possible.

Over the next few weeks the Board will be meeting to discuss a number of issues to determine the path forward, we will also continually look for ways to keep the kids engaged and as soon as possible get them back out on the field.

The Board appreciates that there may be many questions that families have, in order to ensure good communications a new email has been set up for families to share their questions, concerns and ideas.  The emails will be reviewed by the Club President, Brian Billard and either answered directly or forwarded to the correct Board Member for response.   Email address: cornwallunitedscpresident@gmail.com

The safety and wellness of all our players and families will always be our first priority, as such, any decision to reopen activities will only be done once we are fully convinced it is safe for all involved.

We will keep you advised of any further developments.

As always, thankyou for your understanding and support during this difficult time.
